Here is a rather favourable email - received from Amnesty International. Although they cannot officially attend due to proximity to Christmas, they are willing to cascade details of our event through their membership (sic):

Dear Wilson

Owing to our workload and staffing capacity in the run-up to Christmas, I'm afraid that Amnesty won't be able to officially participate in your worthy demonstration. I have, however, forwarded the details of your demonstration to my colleague in our Amnesty-UK office to send out to our membership which frequently expresses concern about the attacks on religious minorities in Pakistan.

As promised, please also see the link to the recent public statement that Amnesty International issued calling for the blasphemy laws to be abolished or amended.

Amnesty International Public Statement:

Pakistan: government should take concrete action to amend or abolish the blasphemy laws within a year

I also recall saying that I would pass on information concerning Pakistani parliamentarians involved in the committee to amend the blasphemy laws. I have found the relevant email and will forward this to you separately.

Wishing you all the very best with your demonstration.

Best regards
